TAIBA

TAIBA

Taiba grew up in a small village in Nuristan, known for her energy and talent, often leading games with other girls. Her father struggles with mental illness and is unable to work, while her mother toils in other people’s fields to support the family. Taiba and her four siblings were born with crossed eyes, likely due to a genetic condition. In a community where harmful traditions and prejudice run deep, this difference made her the target of cruel judgment. Over time, she began to see herself through the eyes of others, carrying feelings of shame, loneliness, and depression.

Today, Taiba lives in a Shokofa home, surrounded by 20 kind and supportive girls and caring staff who see her for who she truly is — just like everyone else. In this safe and accepting environment, she is rediscovering her confidence, embracing her talents, and beginning to dream again.

You have the opportunity to sponsor one or multiple Afghan girls from our orphanages. Your sponsorship provides vital financial support for their education, including tuition fees, and essential living expenses such as rent, food, healthcare, clothing, utilities, and more. To ensure continuous education and care, we kindly encourage sponsors to consider annual contributions.

As a sponsor, you can build a meaningful connection with your sponsored child through letters and video calls. You also have the option to visit the orphanage and meet her in person. We will keep you updated on her progress, education, daily life, and activities, ensuring you play an ongoing role in her journey toward a brighter and successful future.
