HAWA

HAWA

About the Child:

Hawa is one of the newly arrived children at Shokofa’s caring home. She began her very first year of school in August 2025, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in her life. Over the summer, she discovered her love for adventure—learning both roller skating and bicycle riding with great enthusiasm. Hawa also joined the children’s choir, where she takes music lessons every weekend and adds her bright energy to every song. Full of spirit, Hawa throws herself into everything she does—whether it’s playing games, dancing, or racing with friends. Her energy and joy make her a wonderful part of the Shokofa family.

Family Situation:

Hawa’s father, a former police officer, was well-known in their region for his defiance of the Taliban. When the Taliban regained control in 2021, her family’s life was torn apart — their home was seized, her father went into hiding, and Hawa and her older sister, Asia, fled the village in fear of being taken as “war booties” and forced into marriage, a fate many Afghan girls have tragically endured. Shokofa staff in Nuristan learned of their plight and brought them to a safe, caring home in Islamabad.

You have the opportunity to sponsor one or multiple Afghan girls from our orphanages. Your sponsorship provides vital financial support for their education, including tuition fees, and essential living expenses such as rent, food, healthcare, clothing, utilities, and more. To ensure continuous education and care, we kindly encourage sponsors to consider annual contributions.

As a sponsor, you can build a meaningful connection with your sponsored child through letters and video calls. You also have the option to visit the orphanage and meet her in person. We will keep you updated on her progress, education, daily life, and activities, ensuring you play an ongoing role in her journey toward a brighter and successful future.
